Kiyary is a mestiza Artist and Illustrator with native Peruvian, Spanish and English ancestry, she grew up in the United States and currently makes Asturias her home.

She studied Architectural Design and Sculpture at Athens Drive Magnet School in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; she furthered her education studying Graphic Design and 3D Animation at the Peruvian Institute of Art & Design in Lima, Peru; and Fine Arts at the University Complutense de Madrid, with a focus on landscape painting, a tool she uses to evoke nature in her pieces as a tribute to the natural world. She later studied Illustration at the Oviedo School of Art. Since then, she has taken several courses and workshops focusing her practice on oil painting as the medium and portraiture and landscape as the main subjects.

Kiyary has a deep passion for learning, painting and moving; her constant movements and changes in environment led her to reflect on the importance of identity and human relationships with nature.

She has exhibited collectively and individually throughout Spain focusing on social issues such as immigration, human rights and her love for natural world.

She has worked as an illustrator and painter in different projects, but also as an Art teacher, specialising in Painting and Drawing in private academies and schools in different countries.

When Kiyary is not painting in her studio, you will find her trying to capture life by painting from life alla prima whether in the middle of the mountains or inside cafes and bars around the city.

The mixture of cultures and environments I have been exposed to and I have inherited from my ancestors and upbringing has led me to reflect on the importance of identity and human relationships with Nature.
Through my work I seek to explore the connection we have as human beings with the natural world, I strive to bring attention to social issues such as immigration, human rights and the environment and at the same time I wish to transmit the beauty of life and the little moments, because I hope my art encourages the viewer not only to have a greater appreciation for the ecosystems which surround us but also to crave a burning desire to protect and care for the world we live in.
